David Sommer is a physicist with research interests at the intersection of Machine Learning, Quantum Physics, and Materials Design. He has previously worked on modeling complex semiconductor compounds for optoelectronics, where he applied tools from statistical mechanics and AB Initio Quantum Chemistry to understand electronic structure and material thermodynamics. He earned his PhD in physics at the University of Washington and his MS and BS in physics from the Colorado School of Mines.
